Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit of Happiness
Pardon the real life excursion, but ...

Son #1 goes to Tomahawk (Boy Scout camp)tomorrow morning. He's 14, he's been there four years in a row. My husband, a scout leader usually goes along to relive a happy youth. This year the hubby can't go and is very nervous about sending the heir alone to camp:

Me: The heir has been there 4 times, he knows what to bring. If he forgets anything it is his fault and he needs to make a mistake and learn from it.

Hubby: He needs us to pack his bags. He'll forget something.

Me: He's 14. We have to cut the cord in 4 more years. This is a good and safe place to start.

Hubby: I froze up there last year.

Me: It is suppose to be 85F all week. I think freezing may not be an option.

Hubby: He didn't pack a flashlight, for goodness sake!

Me: It's just past the full moon. He will be okay.

Hubby: He should be here packing with us.

Me: He is at the movies with his girlfriend.

Hubby: Girlfriend!!!!!

Me: Yea, you had one or two - remember?

Hubby: He needs a shaving kit. He didn't pack one.

Me: ???

Hubby: I'll just finish packing for him.

Me: !!!

Anyone??? Help! I just don't understand the male psychy. Where did that whole conversation go?

This is the same hubby that wanted to protect the kids from falling at the playground (the kids that are total athletes and the heir is a level 10 gymnast). Hubby always thinks that I don't protect them enough. I think bumps and bruises and mistakes teach more than me saying "don't do that or you'll be sorry."
